So, it’s been a crazy blizzard here in Cincinnati these past couple days and it has given me the opportunity to think about my upcoming spring volleyball season. I am so excited to start practicing again. I know I am out of shape, due to health reasons that restricted me from doing any physical activities. It was probably one of the hardest months of my life. I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst that hemorrhaged and the doctor wasn’t sure if I was going to need surgery. SO I was sentenced to a month of no physical activity. This was the hardest thing I have ever done! I have never gone that long without being active at all. I have been cleared for a little over 2 weeks now and was in full swing with getting into shape until my training was put to a standstill last week when I was struck with tonsillitis and a sinus infection. NO FUN! I really don’t know if I could have worse luck.
I have been trying to research some new training techniques. I am a setter and need some strength training tips so if you have any you would like to share I would be more than happy to listen and learn! I have been running on an elliptical, doing sprint workouts, and lifting. As I do more research I will report my findings on this blog! :o]

hey lyndsey, hows it going? I sort of stumbled upon your blog here, because I love to play volleyball, even though i'm not the best at it, lol. That's terrible how you've had to deal with being sick, I know how that is. I condition a lot for basketball and there's a few things you can do along with what you're doing. Pushups and pullups are great for strength training and maybe running with a weighted vest. I'm not a physical trainer or anything so take these thoughts with a grain of salt. Well, good luck!
